Safety tools for random video chat
Safety on a random video chat is a split job. Some of it is moderation machinery we are responsible for and you should be able to audit; the rest is a handful of habits that are entirely yours. Both halves are written out below, without the usual vagueness.
What VideoMatch does
Moderate every stream, live
Frames are checked by automated moderation while the call runs, not after a complaint arrives. Flagged calls go straight to a human queue.
Staff moderation around the clock
A human team covers all 24 hours, so a 3am report is not sitting in a queue until business hours.
Remove repeat offenders
Accounts that keep getting reported come out of the matching pool. Being unmatched is permanent, not a cooldown.
Keep the exit free
Ending, blocking and reporting are always one tap, never behind a menu, and never cost anything.
Not store your calls
No archive of your conversations exists for you to worry about later.
Hold the 18+ line
Adults only, enforced by removal rather than a checkbox.
What only you can do
Keep identity details off the call
Surname, address, school, workplace, phone number, financial details. A stranger does not need any of them to have a conversation.
Let socials wait
Anyone pushing for your Instagram in the first two minutes is telling you something useful. There is no rush.
Skip early, not politely
If a match feels wrong, Next costs you one second. You do not owe anyone an explanation for leaving.
Never send money
No gift codes, no crypto, no "my card is broken" stories. This is the single most common scam pattern online.
Report instead of arguing
Reporting takes one tap and actually removes the person from your pool. Arguing does neither.
Mind what is behind you
Address numbers, work badges, school logos and mail on the desk are all in frame if you do not check.
Instant grounds for removal
Not a warning list — these end the call and pull the account out of matching.

18+
Adults only, and we enforce it by removal
VideoMatch is for people aged 18 and over. If a match looks underage, do not talk to them — report it. Accounts that appear to be minors are taken out of the matching pool, and we would rather lose the traffic than keep it. Parents and guardians: browser-level and OS-level content controls will block this site, and we would encourage using them.
Safety questions
Are calls recorded?
Calls are not stored as recordings you can be shown, sent or sold. Live moderation looks at the stream while it runs; when a call is reported, the flagged moment is kept only as long as the moderation review needs it.
What happens to someone I report?
The call ends the instant you tap report, that account can never be matched with you again, and the case goes to a human reviewer. Repeat reports remove the account from matching entirely.
Can I use VideoMatch if I am under 18?
No. The service is for adults only. Accounts that appear to be underage are removed from matching, and we would rather lose the user than keep the traffic.
What if someone asks me for money or a gift code?
End the call and report it. No legitimate match will ever ask you for money, gift cards, crypto or bank details in a random video chat. We never ask for payment inside a call either.
